Free From Scrutiny

This piece was inspired by my travels through Turkey in 2007 and by the many heartfelt conversations I shared with women there. They told me they chose to cover, not out of obligation, but as an expression of freedom—freedom from the unwanted gaze of men, and freedom to define their own presence in the world.

“24x24” Collage art on canvas using only paper and glue, framed and ready to hang $1200

For more information, or to see the piece in person, it is on display at my studio at Liberty Station, barracks 19 suite 213.
